Chicago Bulls legend and Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan has remained active in the sport that he loves, the theater of competition in which he built an indestructible legacy. Besides his basketball ventures, he continues to be involved in the community as he looked to open two medical clinics in North Carolina.

It's an impressive feat that shows Jordan's dedication to the city and state that welcomed him since his collegiate days at UNC. Jordan was overwhelmed when he unveiled one of the two clinics he worked on that he couldn't help but get emotional.

The clinics were funded by the Jordan family, and the first one is located near the heart of Charlotte. It's set up in the Enderly Park neighborhood is only 12 minutes from the Hornets' home at Spectrum Center. It's focused on providing medical care to many of the city's underprivileged citizens. These clinics are a boon for the city that has 13.5% of its citizens living below the poverty line.

Jordan is happy that his efforts will provide a much-needed service to the city's less fortunate citizens.

Per Yahoo! Sports' Torrey Hart:

“This is a very emotional thing for me to be able to give back to a community that has supported me over the years,” Jordan said as he unveiled the Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic. He donated $7.2 million for the two clinics.

This is not the first time Jordan has partnered with the city's health sector. Thanks to the team's partnership with the Novant Health Community Care Cruiser, he has donated up to $750,000 to the local health sector.

Charlotte fans are thrilled with this move and may decide to watch some Hornets games to thank him.
