The Charlotte Hornets take on the Orlando Magic on Thursday in the last game before the All-Star break, and the team will be without veteran point guard Tony Parker.

Parker is dealing with a back strain. The Hornets are just 1-9 this season when Parker doesn't play.

In 46 games this season for the Hornets, Tony Parker is averaging 9.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest. The 36-year-old is shooting 45.7 percent from the field, 22.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 73.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Charlotte is 26-20 when Parker is in the lineup. They enter Thursday with an overall record of 27-29, good for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Thursday will be the fourth consecutive game that Parker will miss. He last played on Feb. 5 against the Los Angeles Clippers. That's the game where Parker apparently tweaked his back.

The Hornets are listing the future Hall of Famer as day-to-day. The All-Star break is coming at the perfect time for Parker, who will be able to rest and rehab his back so he can be 100 percent once the second-half of the season starts.

Charlotte is trying to make the playoffs this season for the first time since 2016. Having a healthy Tony Parker for the stretch run of the season is critical.
