The Kansas City Chiefs are on a quest to win their third Super Bowl in a row, and they might have added the talent this offseason to do so. NFL insider Tom Pelissero recently attended one of the Chiefs training camp practices, and he observed something that should definitely strike fear into the rest of the league.

“They are so fast,” Pelissero said. “You have so many fast guys on that team. It's not just Xavier Worthy, it is Hollywood Brown, and it's Rashee Rice, and it's Skyy Moore, and it's Mecole Hardman. They have to have the fastest team in the NFL.”

The Chiefs have always had at least one speedster on their team during the Patrick Mahomes era, but it looks like they have a plethora of options this season that can take the top off a defense on any given Sunday.

In 2023, the team that was deemed to be the fastest in the league was the Miami Dolphins, with guys like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and De'Von Achane running circles around opposing defenses. Now, with what the Chiefs have added, they may have overtaken the Dolphins for the top spot in the speed department.

“I understand that Miami is a really, really fast team,” Pelissero said. “If you did a one-on-one with your top six, stack it like a tennis tournament, I might say Kansas City can beat Miami if you took the top six from each team.”

Over the offseason, the Chiefs signed Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, who has always been known for his speed since coming into the league. To make matters worse for the rest of the NFL, the Chiefs drafted Xavier Worthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and he clocked the fastest 40-yard-dash in combine history at 4.21 seconds.

Beyond that, the Chiefs already had Mecole Hardman, Skyy Moore, and Rashee Rice at their disposal. With all of them on the field, opposing defenses will have to worry about making sure they don't get beat deep, but they'll also have one of the NFL's best tight ends in Travis Kelce to worry about on short and intermediate routes. Add Patrick Mahomes to the fold, and that'll make Kansas City one of the most dangerous offenses in the league once again.

“The Chiefs have six or seven guys who are just straight-up burners, and so they've got more weapons than they've ever had,” Pelissero said.

Considering how KC's offense struggled at times latest year, this season could look completely different for the reigning Super Bowl champions. If they can stay healthy, there's a very good chance that they could run the table again and make history.
