The WandaVision finale is leaving a lot of fans with questions. Is White Vision dead? Well, actually, the question is about the one from Westview, but let's get caveats out of the way first.
We already posted several things on the WandaVision finale. We have not discussed either version of Wanda's love; though we're about to ask about both versions' status.
With that being said, heavy spoilers below, so please do not continue if you haven't seen the last episode yet. Also, there's two versions of Vision now. We'll discuss both briefly.
Is White Vision Dead?
It doesn't appear so. After going head-to-head with Westview Vision, White Vision appears very much alive and more informed than before.
In fact, after Westview Vision (I do not know if that's what we're calling him now or not) gave him a glimpse of their (?) memories, White Vision up and declared himself the true version of the character — which, semantically, is true.
He then flew away. We never saw him for the remainder of the WandaVision finale.
Nonetheless, it does open doors for this version of the character to appear in various MCU projects.
Is Vision Dead?
If we want to get all philosophical about it, as Vision did with White Vision near the end of the episode, was he ever truly alive to begin with?
Anyway, instead of being a jerk, let's break it down briefly.
Westview Vision, like Wanda's children, were conjured by Wanda — apparently by the Mind Stone. They lived in her mind and heart; her sadness, hope and love. A touching sentiment for sure.
When Wanda decided Westview no longer needed to be under her control, it meant her kids and Westview version vanished.
So, Westview version is dead, right? Eh! Not so fast my friends.
Not only did he HEAVILY imply he'd see Wanda again, but the second post-credits scene showcased Scarlet Witch (which Wanda embraced at the end of the program) hearing her children scream out for her.
What does all of that mean? That, possibly, through the Mind Stone and/or her own problems (but probably both and more), Scarlet Witch's powers are so strong, and the Mind Stone so complex, that it's cross-dimensional. As discussed in our post-credits scene breakdown, that opens up a Scarlet Witch-Doctor Strange showdown of sorts.
Nonetheless, that's where we are. White Vision is very much alive and the “real” version of the character. Westview Vision is in limbo, but with insanely heavily inference that he'll be returning to the MCU in one form or another.
Is Vision dead? Appears no…. for either version!
