The Jacksonville Jaguars are currently in search of a new quarterback with veteran signal caller Blake Bortles unable to get it done under center. As a result, the AFC South franchise has already been strongly linked for former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, who appears to be the immediate solution in Jacksonville.

However, former Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis recently warned his longtime employer about overspending on Foles' services.

″That’s a different situation,″ said Lewis, who still wants to return to Jacksonville in order to retire as a member of the Jaguars, via Jacksonville.com. ″When Blake was there, he obviously did the best he could. I have a lot of respect for Blake and that’s a decision that’s going have to be made upstairs.″

On the other hand, Lewis does like the fact that the Jaguars still have running back Leonard Fournette in the backfield.

“The way they are structured and the way they do their thing, it’s always about running the ball first,″ said Lewis, who spent last season as a member of the Green Bay Packers after spending 12 seasons in Jacksonville, via Jacksonville.com. ″I think Leonard is an amazing running back. He’s young and has some things to work on, but they should keep him.″

While Foles seems to be headed to the Jaguars, Jacksonville we then be forced to start focusing on other aspects of its roster. The Jaguars just released a slew of veteran players to clear some salary cap space for this offseason and beyond.
