American YouTube sensation turned professional boxer Jake Paul went on a rant on social media, particularly throwing shade at MMA fighters in general. He shed light on his high level of confidence in his boxing skills while also describing the sport as an ‘art' and referring to the MMA as a ‘brawl', via ESPN Ringside.

Paul also described MMA fighters as athletes who don't go to the gym every day. He claimed that they can throw punches but they don't know how to box, making them fairly ineffective when squaring up in the four corners of the boxing ring.

His bold claims came after it was officially announced that he will be fighting UFC retiree Ben Askren in an eight-round pro boxing match slated on April 17 which will be a pay-per-view event on the Triller app. However, Jake Paul's counterpart in Askren won't be anywhere near his previous opponents who only took up boxing for fun.

Askren is a professional who had stints with the USA national wrestling team that competed in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. He also fought fights under Bellator Fighting Championships, ONE Championships along with the UFC, ultimately accounting for a professional record of 19-22-1NC.

Meanwhile, Paul is coming off a budding boxing career after matching up against notable personalities from various fields. He debuted against fellow YouTube sensation AnEsonGib whom he defeated via a first-round TKO victory back in January of 2020. The 24-year-old also accepted the challenge of fighting former NBA veteran Nate Robinson who was knocked out cold in the second round of their match back in late November.

Hopefully, Jake Paul can back his strong words when he finally matches up against Ben Askren in a bid to preserve his 2-0 professional record on April 17.
