The Atlanta Falcons are heading into the upcoming offseason with a few things on their agenda. They have decided to keep head coach Dan Quinn around for another year, which means that they must give him more talent to work with. Looking ahead to the 2020 NFL Draft, there is one potential second-round prospect that could make perfect sense.

Jalen Reagor is one of the top wide receivers in the draft class and was an absolute stud for the TCU Horned Frogs. With the Falcons having a need at wide receiver, Reagor could make a lot of sense for them.

During the 2019 season with the Horned Frogs, Reagor ended up catching 43 passes for 611 yards and five touchdowns. His numbers took a big dip from the 2018 season, where he caught 72 passes for 1,061 yards and nine touchdowns. Atlanta should not allow his lower numbers to cause them to pass on him.

Standing in at 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, Reagor could fit in as a slot wide receiver for the Falcons. With Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley on the outside, Reagor would slide perfectly into the offense.

Matt Ryan and company were disappointing in 2019. Mohamed Sanu ended up being traded to the New England Patriots ahead of the trade deadline. Replacing him with Reagor would make a lot of sense for the Falcons.

Atlanta would be getting a speedy wide receiver who can take the top off of defenses. He could also become a top-notch possession wide receiver who could destroy opponents across the middle. Reagor is also a crisp route-runner who will be able to create separation against most defensive backs.

There are plenty of directions that the Falcons could go with in the second round. However, they must improve their offense to take more pressure off of Jones and Ryan. Reagor may not develop into a “star,” but he does have the potential to be the kind of missing piece that the Atlanta offense needs.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the Falcons end up doing this offseason. They showed promise towards the end of the season and have a lot of talent on their roster. Adding pieces like Reagor could take them to the next level and back into playoff contention.

Reagor is going to make a team very happy for a long time. He has a top-notch skill-set and the Falcons should already be targeting him in the second round.
