Jason Thompson joins the Bulls, per international basketball authority, David Pick.

The catch? This isn’t the NBA’s Chicago Bulls. Sacramento’s lottery pick in 2008 will now be playing for the Shandong Bulls in China.

Thompson played eight years in the league, mostly for the Kings. He holds career averages of 8.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

The 6-foot-11 center is only 30-years-old so there is still the possibility of an NBA comeback, if he chooses and if there’s an opportunity.

Outside of Europe, China has become a new option for former NBA players. In fact, former All-Stars Gilbert Arenas, Tracy McGrady, Steve Francis, Metta World Peace, and Stephon Marbury have all taken their talents to the far East.
