Former NBA All-Star Deron Williams has lethal hands. Williams Co-owns a gym in Dallas called Fortis MMA, where three professional MMA fighters train. His skills were good enough to earn him an offer to fight Greg Hardy, a former NFL star turned UFC fighter. But don't worry, Williams hasn't lost his common sense.

From TMZ Sports:

“Greg Hardy has to cut weight to make 265. You think I'm getting in there with that animal!?” said Williams.

Williams was drafted No. 3 overall in the 2005 NBA Draft and spent the best years of his career with the Utah Jazz. He was drafted just ahead of Chris Paul and was even considered to be the better talent by many during the beginning of his NBA career. Williams spent time with the Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks before ending his career after the 2016-17 season. Unless he's picked up some major weight, he has no business fighting Hardy. In his prime, Williams was just barely over 200 lbs. Hardy weighed in around 280 when he played for the Dallas Cowboys back in 2015.

In his talk with TMZ, Williams went on to say that he hasn't ruled out a return to the NBA. He still loves the game and would like to make up for shooting 12.5 percent from the field against the Golden State Warriors in his lone finals appearance with the Cavs. He's confident he can still play quality basketball at a high level. For now, he's content with watching basketball from the couch and spending time with his two daughters in Dallas.
