It has already been two years, and yet some people still can't seem to get over the fact that Philadelphia 76ers stud Ben Simmons got the Rookie of the Year nod ahead of Utah Jazz rising star Donovan Mitchell.

As it turns out, Mitchell himself might still be feeling a bit salty about the contentious decision that led to Simmons snagging the ROY trophy, as the 6-foot-3 Jazz guard could not resist responding to a Twitter query asking him about how he lost to Simmons:

Mitchell could have easily ignored the inquiry, much like the dozens of tweets directed toward him every single day. However, the former Louisville standout seemed to have given the tweet's premise some merit by opting to engage with the random user. To be fair, the Twitter inquirer does have a bit of a point, and the fact that he pointed out Simmons' lack of shooting acumen is pretty funny as well.

Nonetheless, both stars went on to have tremendous sophomore campaigns since their head-to-head matchup as rookies. This past season, Mitchell put up 23.8 points (on 43.2 percent shooting), 2.4 3-pointers, 4.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.4 blocks in 33.7 minutes per contest, as he led Utah to the fifth seed in a ruthless Western Conference.

For his part, Simmons had himself quite a season as well, logging 16.9 points (on 56.3 percent from the field), 8.8 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 34.2 minutes of play. The first-time All-Star helped guide the Sixers to a second-round playoff berth, losing out to the eventual champion Toronto Raptors, in a memorable seven-game series.

At this point, it's almost impossible to comprehensively determine who the better player is between these two stars, considering how both guys have their own strengths. What is clear is they both have a very bright future ahead of them, and they will inevitably be compared to each other for the rest of their careers.
