A Utah Jazz shooting guard throwing down a strong dunk is nothing new. That is, if that guard is Donovan Mitchell. Jordan Clarkson isn't one for frequent thunderous dunks, but he threw down a vicious slam and was fired up about it.

In Utah's win against the Minnesota Timberwolves this past Thursday, Clarkson threw down a monster dunk over two defenders. Mitchell remembered Clarkson being incredulous at his own highlight play right after it happened.

Clarkson confirmed Mitchell's account of his reaction to the play.

Clarkson's skill set is comprised of shooting, not explosive athleticism. His smooth handles and shooting make him one of the best bench players in the NBA. It's Mitchell, who won the dunk contest as a rookie, who is known for dunking on people. Clarkson switching up the roles seemed to be a truly astounding moment for him.

Mitchell, Clarkson and the Jazz are enjoying another very successful season. They have the third-best record in the league and the league's most efficient offense. Their third-place standing in the Western Conference is due to the crazy seasons from the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns. Still, they are a truly dominant squad.

Mitchell still proving to be a strong leading player for Utah, averaging 25.1 points, 5.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds. Clarkson is averaging 14.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, albeit on less-than-impressive efficiency.

The Jazz are set to play the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day, which Mitchell is greatly looking forward to.
