Sharpshooter Joe Ingles has agreed to a one-year, $14 million extension with the Utah Jazz that takes him through the 2021-2022 season, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Ingles had two seasons and $22.8 million remaining on his existing contract with the Jazz. Utah signed Ingles to a four-year, $54 million contract in 2017.

Last season for the Jazz, Ingles averaged 12.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.7 assists while shooting 44.8 percent from the field, 39.1 percent from beyond the arc and 70.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Ingles started all 82 games last season, but the Jazz will likely move Royce O’Neale into the starting lineup this season since he’s the better defender. What we do know is that Utah is going to start Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic and Rudy Gobert.

With Conley and Bogdanovic in the mix, many believe the Jazz can compete for a championship this season. We’ll see if Utah is able to live up to those expectations.

The Jazz won 50 games last season. They lost to the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs. The Jazz will have to battle with the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Rockets and Denver Nuggets for the top seed in the West.
