Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles couldn't help but clown on Donovan Mitchell, adding salt to the wound left by Rudy Gobert's warning as the 2019 FIBA World Cup looms closer.

The Aussie wing prompted he might just get his first dunk over another player if Mitchell is in the wrong spot during one of Team USA's two upcoming exhibition games against Australia this week.

Reporter: “Got a little something for Donovan Mitchell come Thursday night or what?”

Ingles: “Yeah, I might get my first dunk on someone for once.”

Ingles has never been shy to play a joke or make use of his affable sarcasm when it comes to his teammates, but this could likely be overkill on Mitchell, who is approaching his third year in the NBA and already getting clowned by his own teammates in the offseason.

Earlier this month Gobert warned Mitchell to shoot a really high floater or pass it out if the two met in the paint during the upcoming World Cup competition, which Mitchell took diplomatically.

This jab from “Jumpin' Joe” won't be taken as kindly though, as Ingles has never been the dunking type and suggesting his first dunk on another player might come against a known leaper like Mitchell hurts right where it irks the most.

Team USA will face Australia on back-to-back games on Thursday, Aug. 22, and then again on Saturday, Aug. 24 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
