Jordan Clarkson just won the Sixth Man of the Year award, but before the news reaches him, his Utah Jazz teammate Joe Ingles made sure to surprise him.
During an interview on NBA on TNT, Ernie Johnson asked Clarkson and his fellow Sixth Man of the Year finalist in Ingles how many Jazz players have won the said award. As Clarkson answered “zero,” Ingles responded with “one” while raising his left index finger. When Johnson asked who's the one, the Australian swingman pointed at Clarkson who was just then realizing the situation.
Ingles then got the Sixth Man of the Year trophy to present it to Clarkson, who still can't believe the surprise reveal set up for him. Obviously, the Filipino-American baller was full of appreciation for his teammate.
Ernie Johnson: "How many Jazz players have won 6th Man of the Year?"
Jordan Clarkson: "Zero."
Joe Ingles: "One."
Ernie Johnson: "Who's the one?"
Joe Ingles: 👈🏽😁👈🏽

It was definitely a heartwarming moment between the two players, and a well-deserved award for Clarkson.
Jordan Clarkson has been phenomenal for the Jazz, and while Joe Ingles is equally deserving, the impact of JC on Utah topping the West is undeniable. He averaged 18.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists during the 2020-21 regular season, all while shooting at an efficient 44.3 percent clip.
Clarkson has several big games off the bench, including a couple of 40-point outings that saved the Jazz.
More than anything else, though, the moment is certainly special and goes to show the chemistry and support the team has for each other. Hopefully, the Jazz will be able to show that when they try to bounce back in Game 2 of their series against the Memphis Grizzlies.
