Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson blasted United States President Donald Trump for saying “the dumbest s**t” he has ever heard:

Trump held a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday, his first in several months. While speaking to his crowd of avid supporters, the POTUS claimed he told his “people” to slow down testing in order to lessen the number of COVID-19 cases in the United States.

It's hard to determine whether Trump was serious or not when he said that (the spin is he was joking), but even joking about it doesn't make it much better. Of course, the president's followers ate up every single thing that came out of his mouth and cheered him on.

The event obviously did not practice any social distancing and not a lot of people were wearing masks, either, though the crowd was much smaller than expected.

The combination of testing, isolation, and contact tracing has proven to be one of the most effective strategies to contain the spread of the coronavirus. America has the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the entire world. Of course, Trump attributes this to their massive testing program. However, the Trump administration also did not show a sense of urgency in preventing the disease from entering and spreading all over the country, and the slow response has contributed a great deal to the large number of cases in the U.S.

As Donald Trump said, the country has tested over 25 million people. As of this writing, around 2.3 million have tested positive and roughly 120,000 have died.
