The Utah Jazz made significant roster moves early on this offseason while most notably acquiring veteran point guard Mike Conley from the Memphis Grizzlies.

With Conley previously spending the past 12 seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, the seasoned signal caller is now pretty excited to throw some alley-oops to Jazz center Rudy Gobert.

“It’ll be a little bit of an adjustment,” Conley Jr. recently told Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune. “[Current Toronto Raptors big man] Marc [Gasol] always wanted me to throw him alley-oops, but I didn’t think he could get up there, so I didn’t trust it as much. Rudy [Gobert] is gonna be a whole other animal as far as throwing the ball in the air.”

The tandem of Conley and Gobert will create quite the formidable tandem for the Jazz going forward, as Utah looks to become a serious competitor in the Western Conference.

With former Golden State Warriors superstar forward Kevin Durant now out of the West, the Jazz will likely be forced to compete alongside the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers in 2019-20.

In addition to adding Conley Jr. while retaining a defensive specialist in Gobert, the Jazz also managed to acquire sharpshooting swingman Bojan Bogdanovic, backup big man Ed Davis and veteran forward Jeff Green. Sure enough, their memorable offseason will put them in prime position to make a legitimate run at a title come the new campaign.
