The Utah Jazz are gearing up for Mike Conley's return to the starting lineup, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Conley was out of commission earlier this season due to a hamstring strain. He's back in action now, but he's come off the bench in his last six games. The Jazz, who are currently holding a 32-16 overall record, were taking a cautious approach to his return. Now, though, it sounds like the team is ready to ramp up his activity.

The Jazz are on the verge of placing guard Mike Conley Jr. back into the starting lineup, according to sources. Conley has come off the bench in his six games since returning from an aggravated hamstring strain. This will serve as a critical test for Utah to regain chemistry with Conley in the starting lineup alongside All-Stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.

The Memphis Grizzlies agreed to trade their longtime point guard Mike Conley to the Jazz this offseason. He's made 28 appearances with his new team (22 starts), racking up averages of 12.6 points on 37.7 percent shooting from the field (33.3 percent from beyond the arc), 4.1 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 27.3 minutes per outing.

Conley was held out of Thursday night's game due to right knee soreness and injury management. It was the second half of a back-to-back set, so the Jazz were likely playing it safe. He should be good to go for Saturday's game against Portland.
