The Miller family is selling their majority stake of the Utah Jazz franchise to Qualtrics founder Ryan Smith, and Jazz center Rudy Gobert is excited to have Smith aboard.

Gobert tweeted out his support of Smith as a hard worker and someone who will continue to move the franchise in the right direction. He also showed the Miller family some much-deserved love for their ownership over the years:

The Miller's have owned the controlling stake for over three decades. But they are ceding ownership to Smith, a lifelong Jazz fan who also has a history working with the organization form a philanthropic angle.

While Utah will undergo a transition in terms of ownership, the franchise still has a foundation for success on the floor.

There has been the occasional scuttlebutt surrounding a trade of either Gobert of Donovan Mitchell after their coronavirus-related beef, but those rumors have quieted down. It's hard to imagine Mitchell going anywhere after his incredible run in the bubble, while Gobert remains a force to be reckoned with in the middle.

Perhaps a Gobert trade is explored since he's eligible for a supermax extension and is set to be a free agent in 2021 if there's no new agreement reached. However, there are no indications the Jazz really want to trade him.

As for right now, Gobert is excited to see what this next phase has in store for the team.
