With the Dallas Mavericks and the Utah Jazz facing off in a marquee matchup on Monday night, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle provided his thoughts on Utah's outstanding campaign thus far. According to Carlisle, the one thing that has stood out for him the most for the league-best Jazz this term is the tremendous play of All-Star point guard Mike Conley.

Coach Carlisle had nothing but praise for the veteran point guard, who is currently playing some of the best basketball of his career (h/t Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune):

Conley did not have the best of debut seasons with the Jazz last term — something that he was heavily criticized for. The 33-year-old absolutely turned things around this season, and not only has it resulted in an unprecedented campaign for him on a personal level, but more importantly, it has translated to wins for his team. It goes without saying that the Jazz would not be in pole position right now had it not been for Conley's tremendous play.

It is worth noting that Carlisle also recently announced that Kristaps Prozingis would be unavailable for Monday's tilt against the Jazz. The 7-foot-3 big man has been playing through a sprained wrist over the past couple of months and could bow be facing extended time on the shelf. The Mavs were already the underdogs against the mighty Jazz, and the absence of their star center will only make things more difficult for Luka Doncic and Co.
