Washington Wizards restricted free agent Bobby Portis is reportedly interested in signing with the Utah Jazz this summer, according to Tony Jones of The Athletic.
As a restricted free agent, Portis can sign an offer sheet with any team of his choice and then the Wizards would have 48 hours to match the offer sheet or let Portis go.
Hearing Bobby Portis has significant interest in coming to the Utah Jazz. Portis is a restricted free agent for the Washington Wizards. He’s a power forward/center who is a good perimeter shooter. Eight days until free agency starts

The Wizards acquired Portis from the Chicago Bulls on February 6. The power forward averaged 14.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 50 games with the Bulls and Wizards this past season while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 39.3 percent from beyond the arc and 79.4 percent from the free-throw line.
The Jazz acquired Mike Conley from the Memphis Grizzlies this week. Utah is trying to make a run to the NBA Finals next season since the Golden State Warriors will be a depleted team.
Portis is a good rebounder and a player who plays with a lot of passion and grit. He can also knock down the mid range jumper and has improved his 3-point shooting as well. The Jazz would have a nice front court duo with Rudy Gobert and Portis. The future of Derrick Favors is still up in the air. His contract for next season is non-guaranteed until July 6.
