Aaron Rodgers hasn't wasted anytime creating rivalries since joining the New York Jets. The star QB recently got into a verbal altercation with New York Giants defender Jihad Ward during a preseason game, and the audio was made available via Hard Knocks. Rodgers and Ward could be heard trading verbal jabs after Rodgers took a hit from Ward. Ward later blamed the incident on the Jets laughing at a Randall Cobb tackle that led to a Giants injury.

Rodgers then called out Ward via Connor Hughes of SNY.

“I think he’s making s**t up,” Rodgers said.

It is possible that Ward simply thought Rodgers and the Jets were laughing at what occurred, and it was all a misunderstanding. It's unclear exactly who's right in this instance though. Obviously, it would be a terrible look if Aaron Rodgers and other players were laughing at an injury. But Rodgers called out Ward's claim and accused him of “making s**t up.”

It will be interesting to see if Ward or any of his Giants teammates respond to the Jets new quarterback. They could ultimately remain silent now and respond on the field when the teams go head-to-head on October 29. The Giants will unquestionably have more motivation to win following this preseason incident.

For now, both the Jets and Giants are focused on taking care of business in their season openers. Aaron Rodgers and the Jets will kickoff the 2023 campaign on Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills on September 11, while the Giants will battle the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football on September 10.
