The New York Jets are looking to deliver on the hype they generated last offseason. The NFL was pumped about Aaron Rodgers joining the Jets and decided to put them on a slew of primetime games, including a Week 1 Monday Night Football game against the Bills. Rodgers famously tore his Achilles early in the first quarter of MNF in Week 1. Rodgers didn't return from injury that season and the Jets season never recovered. The 40-year-old QB claims the Jets will make due on that hype in 2024.

Rodgers recently appeared with Adam Schein on Mad Dog Sports Radio. Rodgers quipped that the Jets will give the NFL exactly what they want.

“What happens when we pay them back this year with 6 great primetime games?” Rodgers said. “What are they gonna say next year?”

Rodgers added that the Jets are a team to watch in 2024.

“Whether you love me or hate me, people want to see me play,” Rodgers said. “We are a team to watch this year.”

The Jets have the following primetime games in 2024:

  • Week 1 – Monday Night Football – @ San Francisco 49ers
  • Week 3 – Thursday Night Football – vs. New England Patriots
  • Week 6 – Monday Night Football – vs. Buffalo Bills
  • Week 7 – Sunday Night Football – at Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Week 9 – Thursday Night Football – vs Houston Texans
  • Week 11 – Sunday Night Football vs. Indianapolis Colts

They also play against the Minnesota Vikings in London in Week 5. While not a primetime game, it will be a nationally-televised event. It will also be a significant strain on a schedule that already requires some quick turnarounds for New York. The London game is considered an away game for the Jets and home game for Vikings.

Sauce Gardner believes he is the best CB in the NFL

Aaron Rodgers isn't the only superstar on the New York Jets.

Sauce Gardner burst onto the scene two years ago and immediately made the case that he is special. He won defensive rookie of the year and quickly became one of the league's best cornerbacks.

If you ask Sauce, he's already the best in the NFL.

“I would like to call myself one of the best (cornerbacks) in the game, if not the best,” Gardner said. “I’m always open to competing and want to challenge myself and others. But ultimately, I want to do whatever it takes for the team to win.”

Sauce isn't the only one who thinks so. The folks over at Pro Football Focus (PFF) have been high on Sauce for years and already rate him as the league's best corner.

According to John Kosko of PFF, Gardner ranked as the best cornerback in the league over the past two seasons.

“These rankings will combine PFF coverage grades with our Successful Coverage Over Expected (SCOE) data, which looks at how well each coverage defender performed on non-targeted coverage snaps, as we grade every coverage defender’s ability to prevent separation whether they are targeted on the play or not,” Kosko explained.

Jets fans are hopeful that the combination of Aaron Rodgers and Sauce Gardner can get them over the hump in an incredibly competitive AFC.
