The New York Jets could be without their top two running backs and top two wide receivers in their Week 14 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Starting tailback Michael Carter is still on the short term IR, and the Jets placed wide receiver Corey Davis on season-ending injured reserve earlier this week.
Now, things are beginning to look even more bleak. They ruled out Tevin Coleman on Friday, and breakout star wide receiver Elijah Moore has not practiced all week with a quad injury.
As noted by ESPN Jets reported Rich Cimini, no New York Jets played has played on Sunday after having not practiced at all during the week.
Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson is coming off his best game as a pro against the Philadelphia Eagles last week. He threw for 226 yards and two passing touchdowns. He also picked up a rushing touchdown in the loss.
But, it appears he will be extremely short-handed on offense this week. The Jets are set to host the New Orleans Saints Sunday. New Orleans is getting All-Pro running back Alvin Kamara back for the game. With the Jets rush defense as bad as it has been all season, New York might be fighting an uphill battle all game.
Moore has not officially been ruled out yet. If he does not play, the Jets are left with Jamison Crowder and Keelan Cole as their top receivers. New York is already down to Ty Johnson and Austin Walter at tailback.
Needless to say, it's going to be tough sledding for the Jets offense vs the Saints.
