The Minnesota Vikings have officially been named the recipients of the Kirk Cousins Sweepstakes. As a result, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has already started focusing on his next move.

Needless to say, Bridgewater has garnered plenty of interest from teams that struck out on Cousins. However, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, he could be planning to join the New York Jets in the coming days:

“The Jets are working on a deal for QB Teddy Bridgewater, the source said. It is not his only option. But it is their first choice.”

Bridgewater has been one of the more intriguing options on the quarterback market. He established himself early on as one of the most promising players under center before the devastating knee injury. There are still questions about whether or not he can return to form. However, the Jets are seemingly confident in his potential moving forward.

New York had appeared as a frontrunner to land Cousins' services due to the fact that they were able to pay him more than any other team was. While Bridgewater's deal may not be as lucrative as the one they were going to give Cousins, it should still be quite prodigious. Especially considering how he has yet to see any real NFL action over the last two seasons.

Fortunately, the money that the Jets saved by missing out on Cousins should allow them to acquire other key pieces. Given Bridgewater's unproven status, they may also be inclined to bring in another quarterback for him to compete with as well.
