No one expected for Joel Embiid to burst on to the scene quite like this.

After missing the last two seasons with injuries, Embiid's rookie season is finally here and he's tearing it up on the court despite a minutes restriction.

Of course, Embiid's entertainment does not stop on the floor.

Embiid has decided that his nickname will be “The Process” as a nod to the Philadelphia 76ers' front office and their mindset over these past few years. Embiid is totally embracing the franchise and the jokes around himself.

Embiid is also working on branding, applying to for a trademark for “The Process” and for some reasons maybe everyone didn't see coming.

Via CrossingBroad.com:

Embiid’s filing, through his agency CAA Sports, is for “goods and services,” including “apparel, namely, shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, sweatpants, hats, flip flops.” A second filing lists other goods and services.

Included in that second filing: Rubber bracelets; Children’s books; Non-alcoholic beverages, namely, pre-bottled Shirley Temple drinks.

Embiid became known for drinking Shirley Temples while recovering from injuries and how perfect is it that he plans to combine the love for that beverage with his new, hit nickname?

It's a hilarious move by Embiid that is also very smart. The idea my very well take off and make Embiid an even bigger star.
