When it came to the matchup at the center position from today's New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers, the two starters set a Christmas Day record that hadn't been done in 15 years. Sixers center Joel Embiid and Knicks center Enes Kanter both went off for at least 25 points and 15 rebounds during Philadelphia's 105-98 win over New York at legendary Madison Square Garden.

According to a post from the ESPN Stats & Info official Twitter account, the last time multiple players went for at least 25 points and 15 rebounds in the same game on Christmas was in 2002 when Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, and Chris Webber all did it in a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings.

Although his team lost, Kanter had a monstrous game on the afternoon as he went off for a game-high 31 points on 12-of-21 shots from the field and an eye-opening 22 rebounds.

As for Embiid, he had a great game with 25 points on 8-of-17 shooting, a team-high 16 rebounds, three blocked shots and three assists. Embiid also had a funny exchange with a Knicks fan towards the end of the game.

This was a huge road win for the Sixers to stop a five-game losing streak, as they will head out west for their next three games against the Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, and Phoenix Suns.
