Philadelphia 76ers‘ center Joel Embiid finally made his regular season debut for his team on Wednesday night. He was greeted with a huge applause when he entered the game and is quickly becoming one of the crowd favorites.

After an impressive preseason in which he showcased his offensive moves and shot-blocking ability, the 7-foot center recently revealed how he started to learn one of his basketball skills. Per Sports Illustrated's Lee Jenkins:

“You know how I learned to shoot? I watched white people. Just regular white people. They really put their elbow in and finish up top. You can find videos of them online.”

Known for his comedic and playful antics, especially on social media, it will be hard to believe that Embiid was completely serious when he gave that statement. Although white people are known to be good shooters, it will still be quite surprising if that's where he got his shooting ways. He has been a professional for three years now and has played organized basketball since high school, so he has had coaches who might have at least given him some tips on to shoot before.

Embiid's Twitter account is now one of the most popular among his NBA contemporaries and his fun and hilarious ways have endeared him more to the Sixers' fans. Outside of being active on social media, he'll look to repay the trust his team and supporters have given him the past couple of years by making an impact on the court and contributing to the 76ers who are looking to put their losing ways all in the past.

With a young core and the addition of Embiid and Ben Simmons this year, the Philly faithful have high hopes for their team and believe that this is the season they'll start winning more games and make it back to the playoffs in the near future.
