Even if he missed the past two seasons due to a pair of foot injuries, Philadelphia 76ers‘ center Joel Embiid still found a way to be one of the most talked-about players. While recovering from injury and making his return to the court, he has become one of the most popular athletes on social media, mainly because of his playful and comedic antics.

Recently appearing in a hilarious interview with ESPN's Kevin Negandhi together with his teammate Jahlil Okafor, Embiid discussed some of the tweets he made in the past like calling Tim Duncan a “fashion icon,” trolling Ben Simmons about the team he chose during a game of FIFA on the Playstation 4, and expecting a reply from Kim Kardashian when he asked her to slide into her DM's.

But perhaps what started his popularity on social media was how he was upfront when he asked R&B superstar Rihanna out on a date through Twitter. He got the chance to meet the Grammy Award-winning singer and shared how the experience was.

“It went well. I actually met her for the first time. We talked and obviously she knew me, and I was pretty excited about it. We had a conversation. We kind of talked about my Twitter and it was fun. She thought I was funny.”

With his honesty and fun-loving nature, the 7-foot Cameroonian will be one of the most-loved players in the league given his personality. Now that he's finally ready to make his NBA debut, more of the highly-entertaining and funny tweets can be expected from Embiid.
