Quarterback Johnny Manziel has begun the process of getting his professional career back on track with his commitment to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for the next two seasons.

This has put him back on the field in a competitive game for the first time in nearly three years since he being let go by the Cleveland Cavaliers. With that in mind, Manziel has made his first touchdown pass in his CFL career in the Tiger-Cats preseason game over the weekend.

Although it came in preseason action in the CFL, it is a definite step in the right direction for Manziel. He has a chance in front of him to possibly make a push to pry to the starting job away from Jeremiah Masoli this upcoming season. Manziel could quickly prove to be the more effective option under center despite it being his first campaign in the league.

In the meantime, Manziel is looking more comfortable playing with Hamilton with each passing week in the preseason that could see him continue to earn more playing time as the CFL regular season begins this upcoming weekend.

There is still plenty of things that the 25-year-old must continue to pick up that include the extended length of the field sideline to sideline, field goal post in the front of the end zone, and the fact that there are 12 players on the field of play.

The Tiger-Cats are set to play their 2018 season opener against the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET. We could see Manziel receive plenty of action.
