Former Los Angeles Lakers superstar and Hall of Fame player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar doesn't have time for our nonsense GOAT debates.

How do we know this? Because the man who had a small acting role in the mini-series The Stand, a Stephen King adaptation, literally said as much.

“These GOAT discussions are fun distractions while sitting around waiting for the pizza to be served,” Kareem Abdul-Jabbar told The Undefeated. “But they’re on a par with ‘Which superpower would you want most: flight or invisibility?’ Whether I’m included or not in anyone’s list doesn’t matter. I played my hardest and I helped my teammates. That’s the most important thing I walked away with.

“The reason there is no such thing as the GOAT is because every player plays under unique circumstances. We played different positions, under different rules, with different teammates, with different coaches. Every player has to adapt to their circumstances and find a way to excel. This isn’t Highlander. There can be more than one.”

As importantly as Kareem's opinion, for those who did not get the awesome The Stand reference I made before:

See if you can spot him that video, claiming the world is about to end and all that jazz.

Kareem's point isn't invalid, but the GOAT conversations people regularly had, especially in the offseason, help fans bide their time until the NBA season truly begins. After that, we like to assign negative characteristic trait to players because they shoot below 55 percent at the rim.

Who is your GOAT?
