Earlier this week it was revealed that Golden State Warriors star forward Kevin Durant had made the decision to decline to an invitation to the White House to honor his team's accomplishment.

In light of that, Durant recently fired back at former ESPN reporter Britt McHenry after she bashed professional athletes who decide to turn down invitations to the White House.

Durant clearly doesn't care what those who hold the same opinion as McHenry say about him. It's his own personal choice not to attend the White House if he so chooses. He won't be the first or last player to do so as many before him have done the same.

Whatever the reasoning may be given his disagreement with the stances that President Donald Trump has taken or any actions he has taken, it's his decision to go or not go. Keep in mind, this is just a voluntary event that the Warriors have been invited to do.

It also shouldn't come as much of a surprise that he has chosen this route given that many of the NBA players haven't exactly been fond of Trump's recent comments and actions concerning the Charlottesville situation. There have been several notable current and former players such as LeBron James and Kobe Bryant that have voiced over social media their disdain with how it has been handled by the president.

Ultimately, Durant's decision to not go is his personal choice and the criticism he has already received doesn't appear it has or will bother him moving forward.
