The Boston Celtics are on a roll, sweeping the Indiana Pacers to advance to the NBA Finals with a 105-102 win in Game 4, and Celtics legend Kevin Garnett appeared on ESPN during the game to talk about this team's chances and why he believes the experience Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have will help them come out on top.
“Out of all the young guys, they (Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown) have the most experience out of anybody, they've been to finals, they've been to Eastern Conference Finals, they've been in a bunch of playoff series against different teams and Miami and Milwaukee,” Kevin Garnett said on ESPN. “They're the most battle-tested out of all the young boys, and I think it's their time. I think it's the Celtics' time. They have an unbelievable team, they are steamrolling through the playoffs, and they're making it look easy. Indiana's giving them their best, but I think the Celtics just too much man, I really feel like it's the Celtics' time man. It's the Celtics' time right now.”

This was said during the game, before the Celtics clinched a spot in the NBA Finals, but it is clear that Garnett is a believer in this group. They will most likely take on the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals, as they are up 3-0 on the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Mavericks will look to close out that series in Game 4.

What happens if the Celtics do not win this year?
Although Garnett believes the Celtics will go all the way this season, he was asked about what the plan would be if they are unable to come out on top in the NBA Finals, and he said that it should be to stay the course and add to this roster.
“I think you stay patient with this group,” Garnett said. “I think if they don't win this this year, I think you look at it and you can add onto it to make it better then you do. The Celtics have a lot man. They have easily five weapons with Porzingis that you actually have to put focus on you know, Derrick White and Holiday no better two-guard tandem. Obviously, I would put Kyrie and Luka probably in front of that, but no better two defensively, no better two guards this year playing side-by-side. The Celtics are a very very deep team, and are expected to win, so if they don't win this year, it's in the years to come. They're teamed up and they're prepared, and the way their team is built, they're ready to win now.”
This Celtics team has put together great regular seasons, no more impressive than this year, but the postseason success has not been there despite deep runs. They very well could break the ice and get their first title with this group in the NBA Finals.
