When reports surfaced that the Sacramento Kings emerged as a legitimate contender to land the services of Milos Teodosic next season, it was clear that they finally found the point guard they'd been looking for the last couple of seasons.

However, it did not take long for the team to deny the speculations, as one of their executives has apparently made it known that they are not in the race to sign the CSKA star.

Pursuing Teodosic makes a lot of sense for the Kings as he is an experienced player who has won a lot of awards in the Euroleague. However, going after younger players and building through the draft may be the reason why the team is not interested in him.

After trading DeMarcus Cousins during February's trade deadline, the Kings opted to rebuild and took players who could be part of their future plans. It remains to be seen who will run the plays for them next season, but with a lot talent in the draft, it won't be surprising if they'll use their first round pick for a standout point guard.
