Sacramento Kings shooting guard Buddy Hield was understandably unhappy when his team lost its eighth straight game by way of an 87-105 thrashing at the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.

Hield, who had 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists, aired his frustration again about his team's lack of fight during yet another brutal stretch. Per Jason Jones of the Athletic:

“It’s terrible. The product we put on the floor is not 10 games below .500, we’re way better than that. Obviously we’re not winning games to show that. We’re way better than this and we need to figure it out.”

After overcoming an 0-6 start, the Kings began to look like a much-improved team during the early goings of the 2019-20 NBA regular season, accumulating wins over the likes of formidable teams like the Utah Jazz, Boston Celtics, and Denver Nuggets. But Sacramento would eventually fall back on old habits and have now dropped to 13th place in the West with a 12-22 slate.

With a core brimming with youthful talent, Buddy Hield also stressed that his team should be making an effort to push the tempo more and focus there offense on their speedy point guard De'Aaron Fox.

“It’s on Fox, it’s on everybody, it’s on everybody man. We have to run with Fox. We have to encourage getting the ball out quick, pushing the tempo with Fox,” he added.

The 22-year-old Fox is indeed the Kings' most promising player, averaging 17.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists, while shooting 46.4 percent from the field and 32 percent from three this season. Just when the Kings looked to have figured some semblance of momentum, Fox missed some considerable time due to a Grade 3 ankle sprain.

Hield did his best to make up for his absence, but it's clear that Sacramento needs to go with Fox more to escape the funk they're in.
