Kings’ De’Aaron Fox to return to lineup vs. Grizzlies despite not being 100%

De'Aaron Fox, Kings

Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox missed Thursday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder because of abdominal tightness.

While the lefty isn’t 100 percent, Fox will play on Friday against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies:

Fox has appeared in 39 games for the Kings this season. The lefty is averaging 19.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.9 assists while shooting 47.1 percent from the field, 31.5 percent from beyond the arc and 66.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Kings are 15-24 with Fox in the lineup. The 22-year-old has seven double-doubles on the season.

Sacramento hasn’t been to the postseason since 2006. For the Kings to eventually snap their playoff drought, Fox, Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley III, Harrison Barnes and Bogdan Bogdanovic will have to be the guys who get it done.

Fox has career averages of 15.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.1 assists with the Kings. Sacramento will clearly be cautious with its franchise point guard moving forward since back injuries aren’t to be taken lightly.
