Harrison Barnes played his first game with the Sacramento Kings after his controversial trade from the Dallas Mavericks, and he immediately felt good, especially after helping the team beat the Miami Heat 102-96.

After the game, Barnes was asked about his reaction after playing his first game for the Kings, and he seemed pretty happy.

“Man this was special tonight. The crowd was crazy. It was a great game for Buddy (Hield), De'Aaron (Fox), Bogdan (Bogdanovic), I mean it was crazy. I am obviously happy to be here. Happy to be in Sac-Town, show love, and get this win.

Barnes finished with 12 points and seven boards, although he was obviously adjusting to his new teammates. He struggled to make shots, missing six of his nine attempts, but his teammates carried the load for him.

“We didn't have a lot of practice time, so it was kinda tough being in late game situations there. But I just thank coach for trusting me to be out there, the guys made it great for me. It's great to play here in Sac.

Barnes was literally playing for the Mavericks when he was traded less than 48 hours ago, and it didn't suit well for some of his fellow NBA players and the fans in general. However, he never said anything negative about the situation, and just went through it like a professional.

Now he has a fresh start with the Kings, a young squad that's trying to make the playoffs this year. His veteran presence can help Sacramento's young core moving forward, and he will also have a chance to prove himself to a fanbase that literally loved him right from the moment he stepped onto the court donning a Kings jersey.
