Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton recently had some seriously high praise for up-and-coming forward Marvin Bagley III. Not only did Walton compliment the young big man, but he even compared his to the reigning league MVP in Milwaukee Bucks superstar swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo.

One knock on both Bagley III and ā€œThe Greek Freak,ā€ though, is definitely consistent three-point shooting. However, both players have seemingly turned the corner in this category of late with the NBA obviously becoming a three-point shooting league over the years.

ā€œNo, his three-point shooting looks good,ā€ Walton said, via Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee. ā€œItā€™s more that we want him to get really comfortable with the playbook at one spot first, and when heā€™s really comfortable at that spot then we can move him.

ā€œIf we play him with Richaun [Holmes] now, heā€™s playing the 4 and every play we call, heā€™s got to be somewhere else and make different reads. We want him to be free out there. We want him to be able to go all out, so heā€™ll play one position for now and then weā€™ll grow that out so eventually one day heā€™s playing 1 through 5 like Giannis does in Milwaukee.ā€

The 20-year-old Bagley III is currently in the midst of his second NBA season, both of which have come in Sacramento. The Kings originally selected the former Duke Blue Devils standout with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft after just collegiate season. As it stands today, Bagley III is averaging 14.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and an even one block across 25.2 minutes per game as a NBA player. He has appeared in 69 games with five starts as a member of the Kings since the start of last season.
