Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley III has heard the noise surrounding the organization and its many regrets of passing on drafting Luka Doncic, who was selected a spot after him.

Fans have lamented the front office's decision to draft Bagley instead, as well as criticized, theorized, and reproached the Kings brass' thinking — a mistake that could be franchise-altering in many measures.

Yet Bagley is lending a deaf ear to those comments, rather choosing to focus on his own play.

“People are gonna say what they want to say,” Bagley told Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee. “Just keep that same energy. That’s my go-to. Once things start to come around, or I start putting up these good games, don’t change positions. Stay with what you said from the jump. You want to rock with me or continue to not rock with me, that’s your opinion, but keep that same energy.”

Bagley has been hampered by injuries this season, missing long stretches this season, recently with a foot injury — one which he was seen icing after posting 15 points and 15 rebounds in an overtime loss to the Miami Heat on Monday.

It might take some time for Bagley to come around and showcase his potential, but it might be too early for fans to consider him a bust compared to Doncic — even if they did miss out on a potential franchise star.
