Sacramento Kings rising star Tyrese Haliburton continues to address the biggest concern about his game that has been thrown at him even before entering the NBA: his build.
Haliburton, the 12th pick of the 2020 NBA Draft, is bulking up in preparation of his second season with the Kings. In fact according to James Ham of NBC Sports, the 21-year-old guard has already added 10 pounds of muscle this offseason alone.
Tyrese Haliburton was considered the steal of the draft after he showed the 11 teams that passed on him what he can do. He finished the 2020-21 season as part of the NBA All-Rookie First Team and a Top 3 Finalist for the Rookie of the Year award, averaging 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 58 games for the Kings.
While he has certainly impressed in just his first year, there is no doubt Haliburton has a lot to work on his game. By adding more muscles and improving his slim body, he should be able to do better attacking the basket and finishing–one of the things that was lacking on his offensive arsenal during his pre-draft assessments.
Of course it remains to be seen how it will change Tyrese's game and how it will impact the team's play, but his work ethic and continued development are two things that Kings fans will already be happy about.
