Sacramento Kings guard/forward Vince Carter was honored with the Most Influential Veteran award by the National Basketball Players Association during the Players' Voice Awards. These awards are a direct result of voting by the players of the league, as the motto reads: “the only awards voted on BY the players, FOR the players.”

At 40 years old, Carter is the senior citizen of the NBA, and one of the most beloved and revered OG's in the game.

The man formerly known as Half-man, Half-amazing has spent his last few seasons coming off the bench for the Dallas Mavericks and the Memphis Grizzlies, mentoring plenty of players along the way.

Carter made the transition from high-flying dynamo to a reliable three-point threat, elongating his illustrious career by pairing his athleticism with his cerebral approach to the game.

From his imperative win in the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest to the complete ownage of French international Frederick Weis in the Olympics to several game-winning shots, Carter is one of the most memorable and idolized icons in the game, a reputation he'll look to carry to the Kings, whom he signed a one-year, $8 million deal with this summer.
