Frustration is beginning to mount within the Kings' ownership ranks, as Vivek Ranadive and others within the group are not happy with the way the season has gone thus far.

According to a report from The Athletic, Ranadive has conveyed his frustration in a variety of ways:

Sources say Ranadive has shared his frustration with both front office and coaching decisions in a variety of unfiltered ways, including private conversations with business associates and in text messages during a season-long group chat with (Vlade) Divac, coach Luke Walton, assistant general manager Peja Stojakovic and Chief Operating Officer Matina Kolokotronis. The complaints, sources say, have been focused on the team’s underachievement and the part they all played in it.

Ranadive serves as a co-owner of the Kings, and he is clearly unhappy with the way his team has played this season. At 21-32, Sacramento is in danger of missing the playoffs. Still, there are no plans for a front office or coaching change at this point, according to The Athletic.

Ranadive, who is reportedly frustrated with the way Luke Walton has coached the team, would not comment when asked about this subject. However, the Kings released a statement on the matter, noting their support of Divac:

“We share our fans’ frustrations with how the season has unfolded and are working hard to improve,” the Kings said in a statement to The Athletic that was in response to the request. “We remain confident in Vlade’s leadership in building the winning team that our fans and city deserve.”

Will Ranadive and his staff make a change, or will they stay the course until the end of this season in hopes of a rebound? Last season, the Kings finished with a 39-43 overall record, which was good for ninth place in the Western Conference. Would a regression in this campaign lead to an overhaul?
