In the aftermath of Zach Randolph's arrest for the possession of marijuana, former Portland Trail Blazers teammate Rasheed Wallace took a stand for him on Tuesday.

“I know for a fact, he ain't no dope dealer,” Wallace told TMZ Sports.

The new Sacramento Kings signing was arrested last week in Los Angeles and consequently charged with the possession of marijuana with intent to sell after allegedly having two pounds of marijuana under his possession, according to the initial TMZ Sports report.

Randolph made $20,000 bail and is waiting for further results from the investigation.

Wallace expressed support for his former teammate, but suggested he could face severe league discipline if he is found guilty.

The two players only played together from 2001-03, until ‘Sheed was traded to the Atlanta Hawks and later to the Detroit Pistons, where he won a championship in 2004.

Randolph spent the past eight seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, as one of the godfathers of the Grit-n-Grind era alongside Tony Allen.

The 36-year-old is a two-time All-Star and stands as one of the most revered players in the history of the franchise.

He recently signed a two-year, $24 million contract with the Kings, joining teammate Vince Carter, who signed for a one-year, $8 million sum.
