Sacramento Kings big man Dewayne Dedmon is not happy with his current situation and is asking for a trade, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Via The Athletic:

Kings center Dewayne Dedmon wants a trade out of Sacramento and multiple teams are making offers to the franchise in anticipation of a deal prior to the February trade deadline, league sources say. Dedmon signed a three-year, $41 million contract with the Kings in free agency, but coach Luke Walton is believed to have soured on the 30-year-old and the sides believe their union can’t be salvaged.

Dedmon has been a DNP-CD in eight of Sacramento's last 10 games, and his role with the team seems to be diminishing. He has made 23 appearances with the Kings this season, posting averages of just 4.8 points on 41.9 percent shooting from the field (22.9 percent from beyond the arc), 3.8 rebounds and just under one block (0.8) in 13.6 minutes per outing. His best outing of this campaign came back on Nov. 27, when he scored a season-high 18 points in 23 minutes against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Whether or not Dedmon will indeed be traded remains to be seen, but it certainly sounds like he's open to the idea. He could be a nice pickup for any team looking for a serviceable big.

The Kings have dropped five straight games. They'll look to get back into the win column on Saturday, when they'll serve as hosts to the Phoenix Suns.
