At this point of the NBA offseason, it’s pretty much clear New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony doesn’t have much time remaining in the Big Apple. And the team’s new general manager Scott Perry couldn’t have made it more obvious in his recent blog in MSG’s official website.

Perry laid out his plan in reshaping the Knicks and how he aspires to create a culture with his current players as the core. However, while discussing the names of the players who he thinks will be the future of New York, he didn’t mention Anthony.

“There are no shortcuts. Reshaping the Knicks as a championship contender will be a step-by-step process, and along the way, the plan will demand patience, as our young core of Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Willy Hernangómez, Frank Ntilikina, and Ron Baker mature.”

While this isn’t surprising anymore given that Anthony’s name has been in trade talks since the start of the summer, Perry’s omission of the All-Star without even a single comment does nothing but fuel rumors that the 33-year-old could be out sooner rather than later.

Carmelo Anthony is still with the Knickerbockers as of the moment, but with latest reports saying he would accept a trade to the Portland Trail Blazers if negotiation with the Houston Rockets does not work out, he might be out of Madison Square Garden before the season starts.
