In a move that came out of nowhere this offseason, the New York Knicks signed Bronx native Kemba Walker after he was bought out by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Knicks president Leon Rose worked in stealth mode as there were no whispers or rumors or reports that this deal was going to get dropped before it happened. On Wednesday, New York welcomed Walker home via an epic Chazz Palminteri video.

How does that not cue the goosebumps?

For Knicks fans, they are thrilled to be going any direction that is away from Elfrid Payton starting at point guard again. It's a feel good story having Walker come back home and New York will keep their fingers crossed that the point guard can stay healthy.

There's a strong misconception that has floated around social media that Kemba Walker is “washed.” While the injuries have piled up a bit in the last couple of years when he is healthy, he is still a certified bucket getter.

Walker averaged 20 points per game over the last two years for the Boston Celtics while shooting 37% from three-point range. The Knicks needed a facelift at the starting one spot and they got one in Kemba.

With Immanuel Quickley and Derrick Rose in the picture as well, the Knicks went from a team desperate for point guard help to having a fairly crowded room at the position. Walker is expected to be the starter and New York will look to build off of their 41-31 year from a season ago.
