Last night's matchup at Madison Square Garden between the New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves came down to the wire. Both teams went on runs in the second half and the score remained very close throughout the whole fourth quarter. The game came down to the final possession.

Evan Fournier put on a good show for New York, scoring a game-high 27 points on 10-17 shooting. He also missed a potential game-tying shot and the Knicks lost 112-110. He explained what losses like this do to a player's mentality.

It was one of the rare occasions where Fournier, who made five 3-pointers in 10 attempts, was lights-out against a team that wasn't the Boston Celtics. He admitted after the game that he messed up on the final possession.

Julius Randle recorded a monster stat line of 21 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, four blocks and two steals. New York couldn't take advantage of it, though, as Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards led a strong Minnesota effort that got them the win. Randle also played a part in the devastating loss by missing a free throw that would have tied the game with 24 seconds remaining.

The Knicks' loss marks their second straight and comes after a stretch where New York went 7-3 over 10 games. They are right on the edge of the play-in tournament. The newly acquired Cam Reddish should be able to provide a much-needed offensive spark but he is still sidelined with an ankle sprain.
