New York Knicks forward Michael Beasley is impressed with how good Joakim Noah looks heading into the start of the season, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

“I mean, he's cut up. He's got 25 abs right now,” Beasley said. “He's in shape. Y'all know he's strong as hell.”

Noah played just 46 games in his first season for the Knicks after signing a massive four-year, $72 million contract last offseason. He underwent surgery on his knee and his shoulder, and only just returned to playing basketball last month. He will miss the first 12 games of the season after getting popped for using a banned substance in March.

While Noah’s effort and dedication to get his body ready for the new season is laudable, it remains to be seen whether it will actually hold up. Noah has historically been prone to missing a good chunk of games per year due to injury. He’s missed a total of 89 games over the last two seasons, and has missed at least 15 games six times over his 10-year career.

Even when Noah has been on the court, he has been a shadow of his old All-Star-caliber self. With Willy Hernangomez waiting in the wings and Kristaps Porzingis primed to play more center this season, Noah could still be relegated to third-choice in the Knicks’ center depth chart entering the season despite being in fine shape.
