Joakim Noah will not be back with the New York Knicks until further notice, according to Al Iannazzone of Newsday. The two parties had parted ways as Noah took a leave for “personal reasons” following a loss to the Golden State Warriors last Tuesday, where Noah just logged five minutes of play.

With Kristaps Porzingis out with a temporary injury, the veteran center was reportedly promised “significant playing time” — a thing head coach Jeff Hornacek dishonored by playing him only to start the fourth quarter as his Knicks trailed by 10 and taking him out five minutes later when the deficit had grown to 16.

Noah was reportedly infuriated with the way Hornacek handled it all, and after taking several DNPs due to being at the bottom of a four-center logjam, chose to take off to Chicago until the Knicks could find a destination for him prior to the end of this trade deadline.

The Hells Kitchen native was signed to a four-year, $72 million deal in the summer of 2016, but his injury history has haunted him during last season, including a 20-game suspension for banned substances that coiled into the first 12 games of this campaign.

Noah's issues with the Knicks organization are now being viewed as irreconcilable and the front office will have an even harder time trading him to any team, now that they have shut down the chance of involving a first-round pick in any trade before the deadline.

His contract is way too large for the team to buy him out at this point, making it yet another ugly stalemate between the Knicks and one of their players. Stop me if you've heard this before.
