The New York Knicks have started their training camp with some unfavorable news, as cornerstone talent Kristaps Porzingis left practice early Thursday with what the team loosely described as a sore right knee, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News. Head coach Jeff Hornacek expects his star player to be back on Friday, calling it a “minor ailment,” according to ESPN's Ian Begley.

The 7-foot-3 unicorn was seen favoring his left knee as he walked on the sideline toward the end of practice and later had his right knee flexed and stretched by a trainer.

Porzingis walked off the court while the rest of the team continued the scrimmage during their morning practice.

The Latvian international has dealt with a few injuries during his two years in the league, including a sore Achilles, sore shoulder, and sore knee.

Porzingis is coming off a shining summer playing for his home country in this year's EuroBasket, averaging a tournament third-best 23.6 points per game through seven games.
