Even with the Leon Rose era now officially underway in New York, the Knicks string of bad luck continues. Entering the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery on Thursday, the New York Knicks had a nine percent chance to land this year's top overall pick.

While the odds weren't great, the disenchanted franchise was still expected to at least get a top 4 pick after going 21-45 in the 2019-20 campaign. Lady Luck, however, just continues to elude the Mecca, as the Knicks dropped all the way to ninth place.

The team's new GM Leon Rose, who was representing the Knicks on Thursday, had one epic reaction after the team's luck was revealed. He didn't need to utter a word. This blank death stare says it all.

The Knicks' miseries turned out to be blessings for the Chicago Bulls and Charlotte Hornets, who clinched the fourth and third selections, respectively. The Bulls only had a 7.5 percent chance for the number one pick, while the Hornets had a six percent chance.

This is not the first time the Knicks got screwed in the lottery, especially considering they've been consistent participants due to their poor record each season. They missed out on possibly franchise savior Zion Williamson last year, despite having a 14 percent chance to get the top selection.

Instead, the New Orleans Pelicans won the 2019 lottery, despite having just a six percent chance.

Luckily for New York, the 2020 pool is not really considered to be a deep draft contrary to years prior. Still, they could have certainly used a break and had something nice going on for them for a change.
